The 2016 KTM 1190 Adventure R is a large displacement adventure motorcycle designed for both on and off-road riding.    Here's a breakdown of its key features and characteristics:   Engine and performance

• Engine Type: Liquid-cooled, 75-degree DOHC V-twin with a displacement of 1195cc.
• Power and Torque: Produces 150 horsepower and 92.2 foot-pounds of torque (claimed). The R model's slipper clutch helps prevent skidding during downshifts and increases pressure on the discs as revs rise.
• Transmission: Six-speed with a low first gear ratio for off-road maneuvering and a tall sixth gear for highway cruising.
• Drive Modes: Features four ride modes: Sport, Street, Rain, and Off-Road.
  • Sport and Street modes allow access to the full 150 horsepower.
  • Rain and Off-road modes limit power output to 100 horsepower.

• Frame: Powder-coated chromium-molybdenum trellis frame with an aluminum subframe.
• Suspension: Fully adjustable WP suspension, including a 48mm inverted front fork and a rear WP shock. It provides 8.7 inches (220mm) of travel and 9.8 inches (250mm) of ground clearance.
• Weight: Has a dry weight of 478 pounds (217 kg) and a wet weight of 518 pounds (235 kg).
• Brakes: Brembo brakes with 320mm front discs and four-piston calipers, and a 267mm rear disc with a two-piston caliper. Includes Bosch 9ME combined ABS with a lean-sensitive cornering ABS feature and an off-road mode that allows for rear wheel lock-up while maintaining front ABS.
• Wheels & Tires: Rolls on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoked wheels designed for tubeless tires. Equipped with Continental TKC80 tires as standard. 

  Ergonomics and features

• Seating Position: Neutral upright seating position with a seat height of 35 inches (890mm).
• Fuel Capacity: Features a 23-liter (6.1 US gallon) fuel tank.
• Additional Features: Adjustable handlebars, foot pegs, and a two-setting windshield. Includes a slipper clutch, Bosch MSC (Motorcycle Stability Control) with lean-sensitive traction control and cornering ABS, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
