• Engine: The bike utilizes the same 689cc liquid-cooled CP2 inline twin-cylinder engine, producing approximately 73.4 horsepower and 50 lb-ft of torque. This engine is known for its tractable and controllable power delivery, making it suitable for both on and off-road riding.
• Ride-by-wire: A significant addition is the YCC-T (Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle) electronic throttle, replacing the traditional cable system. This enables two selectable ride modes:
  • Sport Mode: Offers a more responsive throttle for spirited riding.
  • Explorer Mode: Provides a smoother and more approachable throttle response.

• Ground Clearance: Maximum ground clearance is 9.4 inches. 

• TFT Display: A new, larger 6.3-inch vertical full-color TFT screen offers a modern digital style with two selectable themes (Street and Explorer) and smartphone connectivity.
• Traction Control: The Ténéré 700 now includes a Traction Control System (TCS) that is switchable (on or off) via a dedicated button.
• ABS Modes: The ABS system offers three modes: fully on, fully off, and front ABS on/rear ABS off.
• Switchgear: The switchgear has been updated, featuring a five-direction joystick for menu navigation and easier control.
• Styling: Updated rally-inspired styling includes a new quad-LED headlight, new side covers, tail section, color-matched handguards, and a flatter rally-inspired seat.
• Footpegs: Wider footpegs with a larger surface area improve comfort and control.
• USB-C Charging Port: The bike includes a USB-C charging point.
• Self-Canceling Turn Signals: A new turn signal switch features an auto shut-off function and a multi-function feature with three blinks for a light press or continuous blinking until a certain speed or distance is reached for a full press.
